Scaling up Child Survival Interventions in Cambodia: Service Delivery Costs

This report complements the study linked below that was carried out by USAID/BASICS and WHO in late 2006 to estimate the cost of national program resource needs for scaling up key child survival interventions through 2010 in Cambodia. In as much as the 2006 study primarily covered commodity and program costs, this latest analysis provides estimates of service delivery and management costs, such as salaries and transport. The findings of the studies are being included in the development of the Cambodian Health Sector Plan 2008-2015 and it is anticipated that this will result in increased funding for child survival.

Scaling Up Child Survival Interventions in Cambodia

The purpose of the study was to estimate the cost of scaling up Cambodia's scorecard interventions. The estimated cost figures provide the major input into determining financing gaps and can then be used to advocate with the government and donors for the additional funds needed, to develop a resource mobilization strategy for child survival, and to inform a financing strategy for implementing the scorecard interventions.
