East Africa Regional Program

With funding from USAID's East Africa Bureau, USAID/BASICS designed a year-long initiative in 2007 to help revitalize diarrheal disease case management in Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya through a regional strategy. Prior to USAID/BASICS' intervention, no other significant efforts had been made in the four countries to boost or revitalize diarrhea case management. Makerere University's Regional Center for Quality of Health Care was a partner in this effort.
