Conflict and Post-Conflict States: Perspectives on Health Development
On Wednesday, September 30, USAID/BASICS hosted a seminar on key health development and security issues in conflict and post-conflict states. This event provided attendees the opportunity to learn about experiences in rebuilding health systems whose infrastructure has been destroyed by conflict. The panel not only considered the specific health programming needs that arise in conflict and post-conflict environments, but also the differing roles that governments, donors, and the military can play in development. The sessions ended with an exploration of the road ahead for health development in conflict and post-conflict states.
